Wishes (Words to a little folkie type song that I wrote for Auntie Pat after she passed away)

Created by a ringer49 9 years ago
The 4th and 5th verses I wrote in Pat's birthday card this year because there was never a birthday card with the right words. Not knowing that we would then lose Pat on 1st May 2014. Wishes You’re someone who’s been there, My life, all way through, With family and friends, And at mealtimes too. As family we’ve gathered, With picnics in parks, At buffets, with posh rolls, And great sticky tarts. It does not come easy, Our feelings are strong. That life with you near us, Will now, not be long. So, if I could mix up a magical dish, That would give to you and me a wish. We’d sit in the sun, on the beach, by the sea, On a day without end, just you beside me. We’d share all our memories, We’d laugh and we’d cry. Then drying our eyes, Your wish, we would try. But-we, know from experience and sometimes have found, That our hopes and our wishes, they may let us down. So all we can do now, is pray and have faith, With the knowledge and love we have, now you are safe.
